Now that I’m coming back around to looking at my CIA NSA list research again, I have some news. Having obtained the footage of the 1972 French film previously mentioned in this post, careful review leads me to believe that despite the striking similarity of Scott Mayer with Captain Spence – as shown by comparison of the two pictures submitted by Scott of his time being a Captain for L. Ron Hubbard – there is a problem in that there voices don’t match.
Scott had submitted pictures of himself during his Sea Org days to the A&E Investigative Reports on Scientology; originally broadcast December 14, 1998, originally archived by Mark Bunker. Part 3 showed the pictures.
This is a still from the 1972 French film –
You can see the striking similarity I referred to.
Now, here is a clip from the french film showing Captain Spence talking.
If you compare that to the A&E Investigative Reports on Scientology; originally broadcast December 14, 1998, Part 3, where Scott Mayer is talking –
In my opinion they do not sound like the same person, but I’m not married to the idea.
The fact does remain though, that there is an extremely striking resemblance between Scott Mayer and Captain Spence.
Scott Mayer came up to be investigated because of the name “Mayer” listed as CIA on an FBI-seized document. I have now successfully documented that Scott used different names and it did appear that one of them was Captain Spence, or ‘Mitch’ Mitchell Spence, aka Homer Mitchell Spence.
There are a number of strange coincidences between the two names that hinge around a prior scientologist named Rheva Bittelman, who was both married to Mitch Spence, and alleged by Scott Mayer to have been his wife in the same time period.
I have documented the fact that there are two different marriage records of Mitchell Spence to Rheva Bittelman, one in 1968 and one in 1970, but I have found no records of any marriage of Scott Mayer to Rhev aBittelman. This despite the fact that Scott Mayer, in numerous affidavits, etc. specifically refers to Rheva Bittelman as his wife.
If anyone has any further information or views about this, please feel free to submit in the comments section. I’d especially like to hear from Rheva Bittelman Acevedo as to whether Spence/Mayer were the same person.
