“A small sobbing girl forced to stand outside in the rain, receiving periodic verbal abuse from adults, was observed by a social worker.” . .

– Grand Jury Report on Synanon, Marin County, as per article by David Mitchell in “The Light”, quoted in the book  The Light on Synanon

.

In war, everyone knows that there are at least two sides.

But, in a slavemaster-caused war there are at least three sides.

.

The two fighting, and the ones wanting them to.

.

Miles Copeland, CIA agent, made a huge mistake when he thought it was a good idea to be on that third side, and I don’t think he was alone in that kind of “recruiting” moral ambiguity for CIA agents.

Nat said the bloke was only dramatizing the perfectly obvious.

‘There’ll always be players,’ he said, ‘but they can’t make any meaningful moves on the board until someone gives them the music, puts the orchestra together and hires the hall. There you have the two categories of people that make things happen in this world.’

To me at the time, the important question was how in the future I should associate myself with the orchestrators rather than the players…

– Miles Copeland, The Game Player (not wanting to understand that he will never BE allowed to be one of the real orchestrators)

The true war does only have two sides – the slavemasters versus the not slavemasters with the battleground being – from the slavemaster’s view – the control of everyone else.

The difference is, the “not” slavemasters, the untainted alter-ego, stand with that everyone else whereas the slavemasters stand against them.

So, let’s look at that idea again: a slavemaster artifically created war always has three sides. The two fighting, and the ones wanting them to.

Such was certainly the case with CIA (and they weren’t the only ones) “studies” in social influence processes using deliberately created religious cults.

Dr. Alan Scheflin tells us –

I want to move the story forward some more, from the CIA experiments in the 1950’s into the 1960’s and beyond. The 1960’s brought us a new variation in operational utilization of the techniques of brainwashing and sensory deprivation and so forth…and this is the religious cult issue.

But it was in the 1960’s that the idea of using these techniques on essentially freestanding populations was experimented with and the cults provide the laboratory setting for social influence processes where the people are not taken into complete physical custody.

– lecture by Dr. Alan Scheflin, Professor of Law, Santa Clara University and author of the book “The Mind Manipulators”: “The History of Mind Control: What we can prove and what we can’t”

.

We already know (because Miles Copeland spilled the beans) that Scientology was one of these deliberately created religious cults, but did you know that Synanon was too?

The Light On Synanon 1.

Every member of Synanon – whether child or adult  – was subjected to something called The Game.

Games in Synanon were usually “played” by fifteen or so members sitting in a circle. They were aggressive, Richard explained, because they usually proceeded on the basis of “indictments.” One player pointed out the defects or mistakes of another, and then other players joined what regularly was an angry attack.

Unless the accused could quickly talk his way out of the indictment, he faced a snarling pack of game
players denouncing him. “It is difficult to make you understand how emotionally devastating that can be,” Richard emphasized. “It’s a tidal wave of hatred. The first time it hits you, it absolutely destroys you.”

Unable to withstand the emotional assault, the target usually had little choice but to admit wrongdoing and promise to mend his ways. Since there was no requirement that either attackers or defenders speak the truth, an inexperienced game player often found himself confessing to fictitious misdeeds to stop the attack.

– The Light on Synanon, p. 137

Light On Synanon - the snarling pack tactic.

What made people leave Synanon?

Not The Game, not the menial work, not even the enforced abortions and vasectomies.

What made them leave was:

Richard had also claimed that while numerous members periodically disapproved of Synanon’s policies, the members stayed in Synanon until the policies turned against them individually.

Until that happened, Richard had explained, it was too difficult for most of them to leave; they would be broke, friendless, and unemployed…

– The Light on Synanon, p. 199

.

Interesting, eh? Only when the cult actually tries to target them personally with their policies.

But let’s go into this whole “cult experience” much more deeply.

The Game itself – an obvious CIA social influence process – showed itself first through the created “laboratory” of Charles Dedrich in early 1958 (it later became named Synanon). This was literally only a few months after Dedrich had participated in some CIA MKultra LSD experiments. Quite the coincidence – wouldn’t you say?

Dedrich – 1961

dedrich_synanon_1961

I’ll be going into all the exact history about that in later posts that I have planned, but for now all you need to know is that Synanon’s “games” were the organization’s primary way of shaping members’ behavior, even small children.

Another excerpt from the grand jury report –

“It is questionable whether the game is a suitable instrument for the training of very small children. We understand that children are frequently subjected to its rigors from the age of four or five. In addition, Synanon teaches children its philosophy that only life at Synanon is good, and that the outside world is bad and filled solely with malevolent people who wish them harm. This attitude could be extremely damaging to children.”

.

CIA cult studies and deliberate manipulation of small groups for both study and offensive purposes (against those it perceives as threats to the slavemaster 2-class system) specifically went “mainstream” in the 1960’s.

It was CIA director Allen Dulles who brought forward the term for what they were doing to people ie: “brain washing”.

He informed us in 1953, the day before he launched the MK-Ultra program, that the purpose of brainwashing isn’t about getting the person to say any particular thing, but instead was:

It would seem that the ultimate purpose of this treatment is to break you down completely and deprive you of any will power or private thought or self-esteem…they appear to place importance on the parallel appearance of repentance and self-condemnation…

Brain Warfare Summary of Remarks by Mr. Allen W. Dulles at the National Alumni Conference of the Graduate Council of Princeton University, Hot Springs, Virginia, April 10, 1953 as discussed in my post: Where Did The Term “Brain Washing” Actually Come From? – Hint: Not Pavlov

.

Repentance and self-condemnation – see how that’s exactly the purpose of this Game in Synanon?

Unable to withstand the emotional assault, the target usually had little choice but to admit wrongdoing and promise to mend his ways. Since there was no requirement that either attackers or defenders speak the truth, an inexperienced game player often found himself confessing to fictitious misdeeds to stop the attack.

– “The Game”, from The Light on Synanon, p. 137

.

The really sick thing you need to understand here is that the preferred targets of these covertly backed religious cults were not the “broken” or the “incapable” or the “rejects”.

They were after the best people.

The natural leaders especially.

(exactly what I was labelled at the age of 6.)

.

The best people also happened to be people that were not towing the slavemaster line in some way.

Steve Hassan, a former Moonie, wrote –

The fact that many were intelligent, well-adjusted and from good homes hardly surprises me. When I was a leader in the Moonies, we selectively recruited “valuable” people—those who were strong, caring and motivated. Indeed, a cult will generally target the most educated, active and capable people it can find.

– Steve Hassan, Combating Cult Mind Control.

.

Ex-scientologist Jon Atack also recently revealed an interesting anecdote about L. Ron Hubbard and scientology along this same line.

[…] you are right, Scn tended to select and groom the best and best-intentioned people. It also led us to believe that we were superior, however, and we most certainly weren’t! Hubbard privately told one journalist that he liked to catch the clever ones and reel them in.

– Jon Atack –  TheHoleDoesNotExist

Even though Jon’s next sentence (not included) shows that he completely missed the boat as to why Hubbard said what he did – because it was his job for the CIA – and tries to pin it on some sort of ancient schoolyard jealousy issues and other than the down-playing of the fact people were chosen because they were superior in some way that the slavemasters didn’t like – I happen to like that Jon is often bold enough to at least try and inform people of some very accurate points about scientology.

Jon was responding to Len Zinberg who posts as “Mike Leopold” who, in my opinion, put it even better:

If it’s any comfort, scientology’s control system relies on smart, creative, passionate, pioneering, forward thinking, progressive, compassionate, strong, tough, dedicated and loyal believers. While most have some of those traits, finding them all in one individual is rarer.

Yes, there were a few bonafide sociopaths among the sociopaths, just as there are in any group. But scientology lures and grooms those with these stellar characteristics. If you didn’t have all of that, you would never have been chosen.

Mike Leopold4 months ago

.

I’m going to use myself as an example here.

I have all of these characteristics, in fact they were all described in my “assessment” when I was 6 (at Duke University, Mkultra central, no less).

Let’s look at what Len listed again –

  • smart
  • creative
  • passionate
  • pioneering
  • forward thinking
  • progressive
  • compassionate
  • strong
  • tough
  • dedicated
  • loyal

Now, did you notice the word that Len tacked on to the end of these characteristics?

believers.

.

wiley-uh-oh.

What’s that word doing there.

It’s not a compliment. Len took all those very fine qualities and modified them by an insult – believers.

Why?

A couple of reasons, I would imagine, but I’m only interested in one – the one I wrote about in-depth in my post CIA Man Says This is “Better And More Practical Than LSD Tablets” For Discrediting Enemies

CIA agent Miles Copeland was being berated by his superior regarding the proper use of Propaganda, and his superior said to him:

But he had other points: first, we, of all people, should have understood what it meant to know something, and to appreciate the difference between knowing and believing.

Second, as propagandists we should have understood that ‘information’ must be fashioned to fit beliefs, not knowledge.

Mussolini knew the difference (‘I don’t want my people to know,’ he said. ‘I want them to believe’); so should we. But it was the beliefs of our targets that mattered, not our own.

So, let me show you the power of the difference in those two terms here, in what Len said – setting aside the grammatically incorrect usage.

Len had it this way –

[…] scientology’s control system relies on smart, creative, passionate, pioneering, forward thinking, progressive, compassionate, strong, tough, dedicated and loyal believers.

Watch what happens when you put the word they’re afraid of in there instead –

[…] scientology’s control system relies on smart, creative, passionate, pioneering, forward thinking, progressive, compassionate, strong, tough, dedicated and loyal knowers.

.

That right there is what this war is about.

.

The knowers.

.

We hates them precious…we hates them!

scum - gollum

Tricksy – they are…

gollum-actual-smaller.

Slavemasters view these “knowers”  – people who have all those qualities – as being a threat to them. Since they view the world currently through the filter of their mask they have a deep need to find some way, any way, to marginalize such people and “cure” them of putting their qualities to use against the slavemaster “society”.

The “approved” party line out there amongst the ex-scientologists, for example, is that they must be repentant and condemning self after their cult experience.

Just like Allen Dulles said is the real point of “brain washing”-

It would seem that the ultimate purpose of this treatment is to break you down completely and deprive you of any will power or private thought or self-esteem…they appear to place importance on the parallel appearance of repentance and self-condemnation…

Brain Warfare Summary of Remarks by Mr. Allen W. Dulles at the National Alumni Conference of the Graduate Council of Princeton University, Hot Springs, Virginia, April 10, 1953 as discussed in my post: Where Did The Term “Brain Washing” Actually Come From? – Hint: Not Pavlov

.

They must also refer to themselves as –

Former believers.

.

Ah, but see what’s missing now? They were knowers before – then they became believers (because it’s false in these cults) and then they became former believers.

What is now gone and not gone back to – is the reason for that “cult” experience. They won’t allow themselves to be knowers or even acknowledge it ever existed!

You would expect to find this particularly important trait subjected to peer pressure ridicule – and so it is. Regarding corralling both scientologists and “ex” scientologists, probably the number one place I have seen that consistently (in one way or another) ridicules, attacks, and marginalizes that “knower” status, is a forum called the Ex-Scientologist forum.

Go in there and say you just know something – and watch what happens.

It is just utterly horrible to watch someone now attack themselves for being themselves – and call it “healing”. Whether it’s a former scientologist, moonie, Synanon, or whatever – they are all attacking the wrong thing and the wrong people.

It was just as horrifying to me to watch Len tack that word believers after all those magnificent traits.

It implies that the only people that have those qualities are the “believer” type but that’s not exactly true, as I’ve just shown you. It wasn’t believers that the CIA (and all the slavemasters) were after experimenting on – it was the knowers.

Why do you think that all these cults have the element of going after the “enemies” who are creating the bad in society –

Hmm?

smiley drumming fingers

.

and do you notice how those “enemies” are never the right ones, never really exposed, never really dealt with – do you really think that’s an accident?

It is the TRUTH in that general idea that is what “natural leaders” see and want to do something about.

So then, in most cases, these shining qualities are put to use doing the slavemasters dirty work for them, and worse? The person, if they ever leave, is turned against themselves and brainwashed into having the idea that they never want to be part of something like that, a group aimed against the slavemasters and pro a real society – again.

Those two combined are so incredibly perverse and sick that I find myself without words to describe the depths of depravity of those that would seek to do this to such shining people.

But it is the last one that is the real goal.

Never be part of aiming against the slavemasters again.

.

It’s like they are recruiting in reverse against a group, a side, that they know is out there and that they are deeply, deeply afraid of.

Remember what I said earlier?

The true war does only have two sides – the slavemasters versus the not slavemasters with the battleground being – from the slavemaster’s view – the control of everyone else.

The difference is, the “not” slavemasters, the untainted alter-ego, stand with that everyone else whereas the slavemasters stand against them.

.

They are trying to turn humanity against itself – thereby winning the war. (they think)

So, if the end result of “being in a cult” is supposed to be self-condemnation and repentance?

Houston, I think we have a problem.

Houston, I Think We Have A Problem...that machines can't fix.

The person has been successfully brainwashed by the slavemasters and a lot of work goes into keeping him that way. Up to and including applying The Game principles in “society” through propaganda, social networking sites, support groups, etc. The person will be targeted if he tries to go back to where he should – that knower thing.

His ideas that knowing is not a bad thing, or that there still exists a very real conspiracy to have society be the way that it is, will meet with, at a minimum, his being rejected and excluded by “peers”. Love-bombed if he goes the “right” road.

He’s still in a cult!

.

Dr. Richard Ofshe, himself mixed up in the later phases of the CIA cult experiments, became a professor of sociology at the University of California at Berkeley. He became the influence behind the editors of “The Light” and the exposes regarding Synanon, which isn’t the great thing it might seem considering his connections.

Ofshe spent over a year doing research on Synanon during 1972-73, and said that The Game worked on the principle that the accuracy of an accusation against a game player didn’t matter, the professor had said, only the vehemence.

This is interesting for a number of reasons, but let’s look at the rejection and exclusion factors The Game employed.

Current psychological research suggests that particularly rejection and exclusion are felt by the body in exactly the same way as if it had received a physical injury – which takes these sick slavemaster experiments to a whole different level, in my opinion.

This includes black intelligence operations run by slavemaster intelligence operatives and cult front groups such as scientology etc., designed both to create the false apparency of this in internet forums (should the person speak out publicly) and even worse? By direct manipulation of the persons life – their family, their friends, and so on being maneuvered to reject the person/target if they do not “tow the line”.

What makes that particularly destructive is that the normal responses of unconditional love directed by the target at whoever it is actually works against them. If you let that person close, in an intelligence operation situation, you are opening yourself to targeted destruction.

A very unnatural situation results. One that requires a whole different approach in order to both protect oneself and to try and break the control being exerted on the people one loves. For all you naysayers out there, don’t tell someone being subjected to this to “get therapy” – that’s just a complete non-recognition of the dynamics involved here. Worse, most therapists are going to end up in the role of the black intelligence operation – “you’re imagining it.” “you’re paranoid” and so on, which the last thing you need is more pressure on you to “change” when you do not need to.

To solve it, is definitely not in the realm of a therapy situation, unless there’s a therapist out there that is fully cognizant of the nature of a black intelligence operation and knows how to run counter-intelligence (which, let’s face it, there just aren’t therapists like that) and in addition, one who isn’t some airhead who thinks just love and communication by theirselves will overcome a black intelligence operation.

The fact is, they won’t. You, as a target, are at war, whether you like it or not, and what you do or don’t do has more importance than you might think. You could say, that the entire human race is watching because in more ways than one the ‘fall’ of just one person is felt throughout the entire race.

As is the RISE.

.

The most important commodity in this war is LOYALTY.

No, I do not mean blind loyalty or loyalty born out of bonds of fear or hate – although, it’s true, that’s the best any slavemaster can ever hope to get.

I mean loyalty born out of LOVE.

This is what it takes to defeat them. People, even one, that cannot be turned against you for any reason, people that love and support you and will fight side-by-side with you if necessary. People that believe you (in the sense that they do not lie to themselves that there isn’t a war going on) people that have the courage that you do.

Since slavemasters, like in Synanon here, and in scientology, have gone to extraordinary lengths to find ways to break, corrupt, or downright push people to not have this kind of loyalty – making it a “bad word” – you can see how important this actually is.

Even Len listed it at the end of his list of qualities –

  • smart
  • creative
  • passionate
  • pioneering
  • forward thinking
  • progressive
  • compassionate
  • strong
  • tough
  • dedicated
  • loyal

But see, far from being the “bottom” of the list, it happens to be:

the one thing that will defeat the slavemasters in the long run

because they just do not have that kind of loyalty in their ranks.

.

People think that the wrong kind of loyalty is just as strong or even stronger than the real thing. Do you understand that this is part of the point of all these sick lessons of theirs?

It’s a lie.

liar.

Real loyalty based on actual love between two people (and not two masks) is unbeatable. Their version?

Not so much.

Remember that the next time someone tries to turn you against someone who doesn’t deserve it in even the smallest way – you may be handing them the war and betraying all of humanity by so doing!

We do not naturally want to hate each other – that’s not where that comes from, is it. You know that’s true.

Don’t you think it’s time we eliminated this ridiculous war of theirs?

I do.

Please join me –

Come with Me.

And let’s take them down.

.

By showing them what loyalty and love really are.

.

They talk about peer pressure? Let’s show them some.

Because in the end, underneath everything – they want these things too.

Never underestimate the power of that.

  1. ……..and knowing that these qualities are all borne out of a loving relationship that tracks back to the creator should be confirmation enough for recovering cultists. Thank you for this impressive public service. Frank F (former moonie)
