Exhibit 43 is a document obtained during the FBI raids of the Church of Scientology on July 8, 1977.

Here is the PDF.

It is an evaluation (scientology tech for assessing a situation) by the Guardian Jane Kember, Guardian Order GO1344 of 10 October 1974, where she attempts to misdirect attention off of scientology drug, gun-running, and money laundering activities. Considering the evidence the other direction, either she’s in on it or she’s a terminal idiot.

Jane Kember names Terry Milner as the “who” – the bad guy.

Buried deep in a number of short-hand type notations, on page 5, is the following.

10) Various crew lists – Aries, Neptune, Makaira – 13 July 1969

11) News article on the Makaira being raided and an arsenal being found on board – date 17 July 1970.

Jane adds this note to #11 – “McDonald had blown with Makaira in early 1970 and using it for drug smuggling.”

Jane’s use of the term ‘blown’ is your first big clue that something is rotten in river city, with this “evaluation” by Jane.

The term ‘blown’ in scientology parlance – means:

To blow means “to leave without permission” or “to leave before something is completed”. One can “blow staff”, “blow course”, “blow session”, or “blow the org”. It is a very, very serious offense in Scientology to blow. People who leave without permission in this way are usually declared a Suppressive Person.

Jerry was not “blown”, he was running drugs and guns with the full knowledge of L. Ron Hubbard and Terry Milner.

The Makaira, was one of the Sea Org west coast ‘fleet’ – captained by Jerald Noel McDonald.

The reason I now know what his full name is, was as a result of recent research of that little entry by Jane, saying: News article on the Makaira being raided...

As it turns out, it’s quite a tangled story, which I think it is high-time it was told.

So away we go…

Jackie Gleason - And Away We Go

Jerald Noel McDonald was born October 31, 1939 in North Dakota, the son of Boyd Egeson and Mary McDonald. His father was a brakeman for the railroad, and they moved to California when he was a year old.

In the Department of Veterans Affairs BIRLS Death File, 1850-2010, it lists the following information:

Name:     Jerald McDonald
Birth Date:     31 Oct 1939
Death Date:     3 Aug 1983
Cause of Death:     Other
SSN:     554547682
Branch 1:     NAVY
Enlistment Date 1:     4 Mar 1957
Release Date 1:     18 Dec 1967
Branch 2:     ARMY
Enlistment Date 2:     22 Jul 1983
Release Date 2:     3 Aug 1983

Jerry was well into scientology before his 18 December 1967 release from the navy – as evidenced by this record of his completion of Power Processing (Grade V on scientology’s Grade Chart) in the fall of 1967.

Power completions from October 1 to 14th November 1967 – Auditor #33

jerry mcdonald power p 9 auditor 33 1968This particular issue is from very early in 1968, because it refers multiple times to recent events of late 1967, such as Jerry’s Power completion, and a “stop press” announcement about the first Grade III OT in January of 1968, for example.

Power Processing, at this time, was only available at the St. Hill organization, the first Advanced Organization in the U.S. didn’t open until August 1968.

Auditor #30 1967

auditor 30 power processing only at st hill(that’s Quentin Hubbard, age 13)

You have to be a Class VII auditor to deliver Power Processing, like Terry Milner (Jerry’s good buddy) was, for example.

Terry was listed as a Class VII in Auditor #24 from early 1967. The Class VII course at that time, also included executive course training.

Terry had left Saint Hill in late 1966, where he was posted as the Deputy Guardian for Intelligence, U.S. (DG/I US) and  junior to Bob Thomas, who in New York was the Deputy Guardian for the U.S. – these are both the Guardian’s office positions directly under Mary Sue Hubbard.

The only way I can figure his participation in Power Processing (which would have been after hundreds or hours of auditing to qualify for that) must have coincided with a Navy assignment there in England. Jerry was previously assigned to Italy, per muster rolls of 1959.

But, still, he doesn’t get released from the Navy until December of 1967. Then, presumably he goes back to the U.S., to the L.A. area and hooks up with Terry Milner, and buys the Blue Fin ship (somewhere in there) before he joins the Sea Org and shows up to Hubbard’s mini-fleet in May of 1968.

Oddly, an alleged note in a U.S. Customs file obtained 6 years later, notes Jerry as having ‘worked with Customs’ since 1968.

Feb-July 1970 entry […] JM is noted as to have worked with Customs since 1968.

– U.S. Customs “timetrack” done by Guardian’s Office intelligence personnel, Ref: Exhibit XII [12] – Clearwater Commission Hearings (main page here). p189

Note: That’s actually very inconsistent with other records – like Customs boarding his ships looking for drugs, but I’ll get into that a little later, when it actually took place.

It would be much more consistent that Jerry was CIA, especially considering recent events within the CIA after Richard Helms took charge in 1966.

Just where, do you think….did Hubbard suddenly get the idea of forming a “fleet” of ships capable of running gold, drugs and guns, anyways?

One of Richard Helm’s right-hand men – Paul Helliwell.

Who’s he?

Well, I’m a-gonna tell ya, right now.

During World War II, Paul Lionel Edward Helliwell had served first as head of OSS Special Intelligence in Europe, then as chief of Special Intelligence (SI) in China with the OSS.

Maochun Yu well-documents this fact, in his book OSS in China : prelude to Cold War. Describing the team chosen to head the OSS office in China, he writes:

Lieutenant Colonel Willis H. Bird would be D/Chief, Major Richard Farr was executive officer; Colonel Paul Helliwell and Colonel John Whitaker would be in charge of SI; Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Willis in charge of SO; Roland E. Dulin would run MO; Julia Child’s husband Paul would head the visual presentation branch, and Major Quentin Roosevelt was to be the liaison between Wedemeyer’s headquarters and the OSS.

Note: Prior to the war, Quentin was a ROOM secret society member. The ROOM was an informal anglophilic intelligence organization started by Vincent Astor, that was devoted to promoting BRITISH interests and empire building using America. See my article Covert British Intelligence Organizations in the U.S. – The ROOM.

Helliwell actually stayed in the Far East when the CIA was formed and had himself a bevy of spies to boss around, including E. Howard Hunt of later Nixon-Watergate fame.

In the early 1950s, his main job was to help Chiang Kai-shek to prepare for a future invasion of Communist China. Helliwell created a pair of front companies to supply and finance the surviving forces of Chiang’s Kuomintang Army.

He organized Sea Supply, a CIA proprietary a shipping company in Bangkok with a “sea going bunch of vessels” that furnished weapons and other material to anti-Communist guerrillas in the hills of Burma, Laos, and Thailand. He established Civil Air Transport (CAT), a Taiwan-based airline, later Air America.

Using Sea Supply, Helliwell imported large amounts of arms that were ferried into Burma on CAT airplanes. CAT then used the ‘empty’ planes to fly drugs (from fields of opium poppies that this mercenary army had cultivated) from Burma to Taiwan, Bangkok (Thailand) and Saigon (Vietnam). There the drugs were processed for the benefit of the Chiang Kai-shek’s corrupt government on Taiwan.

When Helliwell was assigned to the Bahamas in 1964 (until 1975) to help launder LSD and marijuana profits, he formed (and controlled) Castle Bank and Trust Company, which also laundered Mafia money. It was initially ‘shelved’ for a few years, waiting…until it started coming into real use in 1968.

Helliwell served the Mafia in a dual capacity as CIA banker and legal counsel. Helliwell’s law firm also represented Louis Chesler and Wallace Groves, both partners in Resorts International, another CIA front group.

That’s actually what he was assigned there to do, set up offshore banks for CIA use, and he set up other banks as well. He established the Mercantile Bank and Trust Company in the Bahamas, and then later the American Bankers Insurance Company based in Galveston, Texas.

Helliwell was an attorney, working out of Miami and he also served as legal counsel to a Panamanian holding company that controlled a Bahamas gambling casino connected with Meyer Lansky.

He also established a Miami office of the Sea Supply Corporation – the primary reason was to create closer ties between the CIA and the Cuban Mafia. This included Santos Trafficante, that brought in Chinese white heroin that the Mafia distributed in the U.S. Santos Trafficante was a Tampa-based crime boss who was among those who lost out on gambling revenues when Castro took power in Cuba.

Now, just prior to Hubbard’s forming the Sea Organization, he was in the Canary Islands in 1966, in Las Palmas. It was actually when he was there that he established the Guardian Office and the Intelligence Bureau on 1 March 1966 – right when Richard Helms is taking over the CIA.

Las Palmas is in the Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa. The U.S. has a SIGINT operation at a base in Las Palmas – Signals Intelligence is the interception of electronic emissions of all types to gather information. This can include listening in on enemy radio conversations. The base is also used by the CIA to train, fund and supply arms to CIA guerilla warfare units in various countries.

In the Canaries, there are two important military bases: the air base of Gando and the naval base of Las Palmas. The two bases are Spanish and therefore they are at NATO’s automatic disposal ergo useable by the secret stay-behind armies, I’ll explain that a little later, but one of them, the Italian one, was called Operation Gladio. It was set up in 1958 with help from British Intelligence and the CIA, with funding from the latter. This assistance continued, with Gladio units being trained by US instructors at a military base in the Canary Islands starting in 1966.

What were Gladio people being trained in?

Gladio’s concern with “internal subversion and that it was to play a determining role … not only in the general policy levels of warfare, but also in the politics of emergency”. The “emergency” as far as they were concerned was to come with the growth during the 60s and 70s of the popular anti-capitalist movement, industrial unrest and an apparent shift from centre to left by the ruling Christian Democratic Party.

In fact Gladio was deeply involved in the so-called “strategy of tension” in the late 60s and 70s. The aim of the strategy, of which the principle tactic was “terrorist outrages” carried out by fascists, was to spread panic and unrest and to directly attack the Left and provoke them into an armed response, which would both justify increased state power under the pretext of a “national emergency” and isolate the Left from popular support.

The most important lesson to be learnt from the Gladio story; the whole Stay Behind network […] is that the right-wing establishment will, quite literally, stop at nothing to prevent a popular anti-capitalist movement (or one perceived as such) displacing it from power.

In such a context the establishment will happily make use of fascist groups, whether as unwitting dupes (via the secret services), or as direct allies – after all, if the choice is stark enough, classical fascist ideology has more than enough in common with that of the right-wing establishment.

Source: Fighting Talk – Issue 11 – May 1995

Scientology is rather fascist behind-the-scenes, to put it mildly.

Note: The Vietnam War, with Helliwell’s Sea Supply running guns and his Air America flying drugs around all over the place, that was going on right at this time, too. As most now know, a large part of that war was really about the Opium (drug trade) profits.

In such a scene going on at Las Palmas right then, it’d sure be awfully easy (and nice and secure from prying types, what with SIGINT there and all) to get ole Mr. Hubbard a nice new set of “orders” there – now wouldn’t it.

He sure started drastically changing the entire face and structure, and even the “tech” of scientology when he was there – and that’s just getting to be way too many coincidences. I think we have to face facts here kids, Hubbard was “in” the spy-game.

Richard Helms, the new CIA director, was good buddies with the Mellon family and would often visit Billy Mellon/Hitchcock’s estate where Timothy Leary was presiding over the CIA’s project MKUltra LSD experiments.

When things got too hot, Leary and Mellon/Hitchcok moved to the West Coast, shifting over to empowering the Brotherhood of Eternal Love which Leary and Mellon/Hitchcock helped get going in 1966, after “Farmer” Griggs had visited Leary that summer.

So – now that Leary and Mellon/Hitchcock’s good buddy Richard Helms was heading the CIA, and Paul Helliwell had everything all set up and hunky-dory for them with the offshore banks they would use – lots of world-wide drug-running and money laundering operations then began in earnest.

That’s who Paul Helliwell is.

And gee whillickers, there sat ole Ron Hubbard, the long-term intelligence asset, with his newly formed mini-fleet of ocean going vessels just filled with young and gullible “save-the-world” types, just nice and conveniently available.

Just one year after Helms, if you’ll forgive the pun, takes the helm of the CIA, the Sea Org had been formed 12 August 1967.

Elena Lorrel was a Sea Org member who was involved in the covert political operations of Hubbard’s Sea Org.
Elena Lorrel is not her real name, it is a fake name so that she can avoid Church harassment.

Elena said there are missing chapters in Sea Org history, not known by the ordinary SO members, having to do with what the ships were really doing.

What we were doing was James Bond stuff, in all these different countries.

Some of the missions we undertook were real intelligence missions: to the United Nations, as well as to almost every government of the countries we visited.

We were infiltrating these groups…trying to covertly back one political candidate versus another. All kinds of political manipulations like you would never imagine were going on, and it was all being pulled off by a small group of people over a period of 12 years. We’d been out on the scenes where we had to break into Presidential palace grounds, on our way past guards, and so on.

Messiah or Madman by Bent Corydon and L. Ron Hubbard Jr., 1987, interview with Elena Lorrel, p. 38, 39.

Four months after the alter-ego of Helliwell’s Sea Supply, the Sea Org was formed –

On New Years 1968, and just two weeks after Jerry McDonald gets released from the Navy, L. Ron Hubbard establishes a corporation called Operation & Transport Limited, through the Panamanian Counsel in Valencia.

In another spontaneous fit of coincidental activity with the CIA – Hubbard had used the very same favorite area of incorporating shady companies as Paul Helliwell – Panama, where the CIA had just (in 1967) positioned their future puppet monster leader, Manuel Noriega, trained by them at School of the Americas and at Fort Bragg, in the Panama National Guard.

That same day, Hubbard released his “advanced” spiritual levels OT III through VI, and opened his first Advanced Org (to deliver the OT levels) aboard the ship Royal Scotsman. OT III was a conglomeration of earlier British-backed propaganda writings – intent on destroying the American’s views on spiritual matters. The OT III “incident” most closely follows The OAHSPE, published in 1884.

*See library article Comprehensive History of The Oahspe, which offers direct comparisons between it and Hubbard’s “advanced” levels. Also, Hubbard’s stay at Las Palmas may have contributed to his “volcano” part of his OT III concoction. He was popping drugs and checking out the local underground base (abandoned) built under a volcano! He was actually still in Las Palmas when he formed the Sea Organization and issued Rons Journal #67 where he steals from the Oahspe and talks about the “wall of fire”, which is OT III.

I formed the Sea Organization of OTs in order to have an area where a Scientologist could come, who could safely then walk through this last wall of fire.” – Hubbard, RJ67,September 20, 1967

Hubbard needed to provide some kind of explanation to his not in-the-know accolytes, as to why he was sailing around in that neck of the woods in 1968 – the Mediteranean – one of them was based on his past life as a pirate – he said.

Another reason we were in that part of the world sailing around on these ships was the fact, LRH explained, that he had been a corsair (pirate), sailing between the Mediterranean and the new world in the 1700s when the rum triangle was going on.

Messiah or Madman by Bent Corydon and L. Ron Hubbard Jr., 1987, interview with Elena Lorrel, p. 40.

The “rum triangle” of which she so casually speaks, was actually the infamous slavery triangle of the British – people were being traded for rum and other goods.

Obviously a fact Elena did not know of at the time, and perhaps one reason Hubbard, considering his role as working for the very type of people who did this, probably had some sort of perverse humor in running this kind of “past life” past his crew and the fact none of them caught the inference properly.

It just goes to show you that a good grasp of the past – history – can come in mighty handy when dealing with intelligence agents and con-men.

The main shore story (intelligence cover) that Hubbard had invented as the “fleet” now ambled their way towards Greece, its ultimate target, was called Mission into Time – where he is supposedly checking his past-life recalls of events/places.

Just a year earlier, Hubbard had used a similar cover story wherein he had claimed to his followers that he was Cecil Rhodes in his last life, and that the point of his trip to Rhodesia was “recovering the gold that he had buried as Cecil Rhodes”.

Now, considering the actual truth about Cecil Rhodes, and his secret society that he had formed that later became the Round Table, all to forward the goal of restoration of the British Empire using America – again, you can see the obvious perversity of Hubbard here in even saying such a thing.

They sought to establish a one-world government – that was the goal of Cecil Rhodes secret society, and its public face – the Round table, and the CIA was just another arm of that shared goal.

You can view my two library articles concerning Rhodes’ plans, extensively documented, here:

From Hubbard’s perspective, since no one seemed to call him on this very nasty connection he’s trying to assign to himself, he had to at least on occasion – be kind of like, Hey

Is this thing on?

Because on the one hand, he needed people to believe his cover stories, but on the other he probably wished there was at least someone who understood what he was really giving away there.

Elena tells us more about this Cecil Rhodes claim –

[…] he also claimed to have been Cecil Rhodes in Southern Africa up till 1902 […] He would talk about the vast level of influence Rhodes had on the British crown. He explained that, as Rhodes, he was the darling of  Queen Victoria.

She and the Kaiser of Germany were squabbling monarchs. They argued often about where the boundaries of their colonies were in Africa, and he was very instrumental in helping to cool down the temper tantrums between them.

At the same time Rhodes had hid big gold stashes in the Rhodesian and South African areas.

LRH* wanted to recover these while he was there in 1966.

*LRH is short for L. Ron Hubbard

Messiah or Madman by Bent Corydon and L. Ron Hubbard Jr., 1987, interview with Elena Lorrel, p. 38, 39.

While sailing around in the Mediterranean, Hubbard would give himself “solo” auditing sessions, bursting forth afterwards spilling pearls of wisdom concerning history and his role in it – which, of course, were lapped up enthusiastically by his dreamy-eyed sycophants.

In early 1968, with the Sea Org still in its infancy, we were just   pulling out of Puerto Spain, and LRH came out of a solo auditing session (where he audited himself) with a big all-knowing grin on his face.

He was going “Uh-huh! Uh-huh! Uh-huh!” He was just baiting someone to ask, “What’s happening?” and beg him for an explanation.

Messiah or Madman by Bent Corydon and L. Ron Hubbard Jr., 1987, interview with Elena Lorrel, p. 38, 39.

One entertaining example of what Hubbard was having these people do on this “Mission” into time, is told by John Atack, in A Piece of Blue Sky.

During the “Mission,” Hubbard showed the crew some notes about their next destination. It was a hidden “space-station” in northern Corsica, “almost at the junction of the mainland and the northern peninsula and possibly slightly west of the island’s meridian,” according to one member of the “Mission,” where a huge cavern, hidden among the rocks in mountainous terrain, housed an immense Mothership and a fleet of smaller spacecraft.

The spaceships were made of a non-corrosive alloy, as yet undiscovered by earthlings.

Only one palm print would cause a slab of rock to slide away, revealing these chariots of the gods.

The owners of this machinery not only knew about reincarnation, they had even predicted Hubbard’s palm print.

Tales about this discovery were rife among Sea Org members. Hubbard was going to use the Mothership to escape from Earth. The ship was protected by atomic warheads. It awaited the return of a great leader, and there were rumors about a “Space Org.”

On the day Hubbard was to be put to this final test, the Mission was abandoned because of the trouble the Scotman was generating with the port authorities in Valencia. Hubbard never returned to collect the Mothership.

So, now Jerry McDonald shows up, in the middle of all this hotbed of activity, to board the Royal Scotsman (later re-named Apollo) there at Malilla, Morocco – which was a CIA haven.

He then partakes in what some call the Liability Cruise –  the ship was run aground in a Spanish Coast port, and L. Ron Hubbard assigned everyone the ‘ethics’ condition of liability. All crew wearing filthy grey rags for the next several weeks. (see this for more)

Dart Smohen – a pseudonym of Neville Chamberlain – discussing the period starting May 1968:

Note: Dart decides to “leave” ESMB (ex-scientologist message board) on January 4, 2011 is where he reveals his real name.

Now, where was I ? Oh yes.

It was pretty tough going at first, We had to do all the Joburgs. I remember having to do one on Jerry MacDonald [misspelled, it is McDonald], who had just come on board. Jerry was a larger than life customer, a smuggler, hard case and general crook.

I started his Joburg “questions like “Have you ever stolen anything?” answers were “Oh yes blah blah blah”, needle moving freely, absolutely no response at all. So I decided to run a reverse Joburg.

“Have you failed to steal something?” BANG CRASH the meter went. Boy, was there ever some charge on it. Times he had the chance to steal and failed to do so.

It took HOURS to run it, there was SO much stuff. All sorts of things came up, many that would have seen him serving life sentences. Anyway, I did the job. We were good friends after that.

All the while we had to learn and train the crew on the basics of seamanship. We needed to practice docking the ship. Remember, this boat was about 100 yards long and weighed about 4,000 tons.

Liability Cruise Part 2, March 11, 2008

Note: Neville was later declared by the Church of Scientology  (under David Miscavige’s informal direction) in April of 1982, for, among other things, drug pushing and smuggling. Jerry McDonald was also alleged to be an assassin, which Neville also indirectly gets accused of in his SP declare as “violence for hire”. Neville was a professional Boxer, and together with former Vegas mob pit-boss Frank Friedman (aka Freedman aka Freeman) who was an American Judo Expert, the two of them acted as bodyguards for L. Ron Hubbard at the CIA’s CORFU caper in Greece – August 1968.

In any event we were lunching at a remote taverna when a taxi pulled up and two “tourists” emerged who sat down at an adjacent table and whom Mitchell pointed out to me as two of Hubbard’s thugs evidently detailed off to tail him. One was alleged to be a British professional boxer rejoicing in the improbable name of Neville Chamberlain and the other an American judo expert named Frank Friedman.

The Strange Affair of “Professor Hubbard’s Philosophy School”, by Major John Forte, MBE, 1980; Chapter 3 The Colonels

The Corfu Caper, is what I refer to CIA activities as, that are going on in Greece in 1969.

The Greek Political Situation, in brief –

After the end of World War II, the stay-behind armies were created with the experience and involvement of former British SOE officers.

The existence of these clandestine NATO armies remained a closely guarded secret throughout the Cold War until 1990, when the first branch of the international network was discovered in Italy. It was code-named Gladio, the Italian word for a short double-edged sword [gladius].

Operation_Gladio_symbol“By being silent I preserve freedom”.

CIA director Allen Dulles was one of the key people in instituting Operation Gladio and most of Gladio’s operations were financed by the CIA.

While the press said that the NATO secret armies were ‘the best-kept, and most damaging, political-military secret since World War II’, the Italian government, amidst sharp public criticism, promised to close down the secret army. Italy insisted identical clandestine armies had also existed in all other countries of Western Europe.

This allegation proved correct and subsequent research found the following code-names for the NATO secret armies in other areas:

  • Belgium – SDRA8
  • Denmark – Absalon
  • Germany – TD BJD
  • Greece – LOK
  • Luxemburg – Stay-Behind
  • Netherlands – I&O
  • Norway ROC
  • Portugal – Aginter
  • Switzerland – P26
  • Turkey – Ozel Harp Dairesi
  • Sweden – AGAG (Aktions Gruppen Arla Gryning)
  • Austria OWSGV

Apparently the code names of the secret armies in France, Finland and Spain remain unknown.

The Greek secret NATO army was the LOK (Lochoi Oreinon Katadromon, i.e. “Mountain Raiding Companies”).

When Greece joined NATO in 1952, the country’s special forces, the LOK, were integrated into the European stay-behind network.

The CIA and LOK reconfirmed their alliance on March 25, 1955 in a secret document signed by US General Trascott for the CIA, and Konstantinos Dovas, chief of staff of the Greek military.

During the 1960’s, former CIA agent Philip Agee, insisted that “paramilitary groups, directed by CIA officers, operated  throughout Europe [and he stressed that] perhaps no activity of the CIA could be as clearly linked to the possibility of internal subversion.”

The CIA instructed the LOK to prevent a ‘leftist coup’ – as they called it.

The Greek national elections were coming up in May of 1967, and opinion polls predicted an overwhelming victory of the centrist Center Union of George and Andreas Papandreou.

When he became assistant Prime Minister in 1964, Andreas Papandreou had publicly taken a neutral stand on the Cold War and wished for Greece to be more independent from the United States. He also criticized the massive presence of American military and intelligence in Greece, and sought to remove senior officers with anti-democratic tendencies from the Greek military.

You can imagine what happened next. In the usual subversive style of British-American intelligence, within a year Andreas’ father George – the Prime Minister – took action over false allegations of his son’s alleged involvement in the “Aspida” conspiracy within the Hellenic Army, and then was forced to resign for interfering, by Constantine II. (Andreas was accused of forming a secret society in the military that planned to overthrow the government and kick out the king.)

The CIA then instructed the LOK to assist the Greek Colonels (led by George Papadopoulos) to execute a coup d’ État on April 21, 1967 – to prevent the election of George and Andreas Papandreou. Papadopoulos had received intelligence training in the United States and was an actual CIA agent, he had been for 15 years – see Rollback! by Thomas Bodenheimer.

Under the command of paratrooper Lieutenant Colonel Costas Aslanides, the LOK took control of the Greek Defence Ministry while Brigadier General Stylianos Pattakos gained control over communication centers, the parliament, the royal palace, and according to detailed lists, arrested over 10,000 people.

Phillips Talbot, the US ambassador in Athens, disapproved of the military coup which established the “Regime of the Colonels” (1967–1974), complaining that it represented “a rape of democracy” – to which Jack Maury, the CIA chief of station in Athens, answered: “How can you rape a whore?”.

Andreas was immediately incarcerated, and Gust Avrakotos, a high ranking CIA officer in Greece who was close to the colonels who led the coup, advised them to “shoot the motherfucker because he’s going to come back to haunt you“.

Andreas’ father George Papandreou was put under house arrest.

Under heavy pressure from American academics and intellectuals, such as John Kenneth Galbraith, a friend of Andreas since their Harvard days, eight months later in December, the military regime finally released Andreas on condition that he leave the country – forced into exile.

Within two months, in February of 1968, he founded the Panhellenic Liberation Movement (PAK) and struggled against the coup until the junta finally fell in July of 1974.

Papandreou held the Central Intelligence Agency responsible for the 1967 coup – and he was right, as we now know.

During the next 6 years, the “reign (or regime) of the colonels” backed by the CIA will usher in the widespread use of torture and murder against political opponents.

Enter –

Sheepskin is slang for “college degree”.

So ala-kazam-kazid, guess what Hubbard is doing with his available mini-fleet? Well, in yet another fit of coincidental activity (this is getting to be a habit) he offers to create a university in Corfu, Greece – providing a nice little CIA cut-out cover, not to mention a constant stream of mules (drug and money smugglers) coming on and off his ships, who are all erstwhile ‘students’ to boot!

Hubbard’s job was to help “validate” the new military dictatorship, which was coming under a lot of criticism internationally, with good reason, but the CIA (and the British slavemasters, can’t forget them) had no intention of letting Greece out from under CIA “rule” – literally.

Reprising Elena Lorrel again here for perspective –

What we were doing was James Bond stuff, in all these different countries.

Some of the missions we undertook were real intelligence missions: to the United Nations, as well as to almost every government of the countries we visited.

We were infiltrating these groups…trying to covertly back one political candidate versus another.

I found a recently declassified CIA document, dated January of 1968, that appears to be giving a “summary” of the new regime’s progress so far.

I have OCR’d it and uploaded it here.

January 1968 CIA report on the Junta in Greece – PDF

Page 5 is particularly relevant to what you’re going to see Hubbard doing there in Greece.

scientology related january 1968 CIA report junta in greece

The Regime’s Frustration in Its Foreign Relations

1. Since the junta took power last April, its principal problem has been with its allies. The open disapproval of the military regime by some NATO governments and the grudging acceptance by others have produced an increasing sense of frustration.

Possibly in response to this adverse reaction from its friends, the government has moved to draft a new constitution, which at least in its initial form retains the basic institutions of a constitutional monarchy. Further, the regime has declared it will hold a national referendum as soon as practical before 15 September. Soon after the King’s abortive attempt to oust the junta, the regime released its most prominent detainee, Andreas Papandreou, presumably to satisfy some of its foreign critics.

2. The regime obviously believes these steps toward “democracy” should convince its friends of
its good intentions. […]

3. Nevertheless, the regime has let it be known that it will not wait indefinitely for signs of acceptance from its NATO allies, and specifically from the US.

And then…there’s this, which I excerpted –

17. Socially, the junta still must demonstrate a capability for carrying out broad reform of an antiquated educational system […] These areas presumably require the assistance of trained professionals, a group that the regime has shown little inclination to recruit as yet.

Well, now, wasn’t that interesting.

Lo-and-behold, after be-bopping along giving press and video interviews along the way, and filling young heads with tales of Xenu and the Space aliens, Hubbard and the Royal Scotsman finally arrived in Corfu round about July of 1968, a couple months before this “national referendum” changing the Greek Constitution is supposed to be happening.

What timing, eh?

Royal Scotman in Corfu Harbor

Royal_Scotman_Corfu_Harbour_-_late_1968Somehow, I keep picturing this though –

It just seems that ludicrous to me, but I think that’s actually the point.

It helps to understand Hubbard’s rather odd statements to the local Corfu press concerning the new government, when put in light of supporting CIA activities in Greece.

Ephemeris ton Idisseon the local Corfu paper:

Q. Mr Hubbard, as the international personality that you are, are you following the new situation in Greece and what do you think of the work of the present National Government?

A: The government is the mirror of the people. Where I go and wherever the students go, the people continually say how safe they feel. The decision to form a company to establish its headquarter offices here shows our confidence in Greece.

Q: I have been told, Mr Hubbard, that you have read the whole of the new Greek Constitution from beginning to end. If that’s true, what do you think of it?

A: Yes, I’ve read it with much interest. The rights of man have been given great care in it. I have studied many constitutions, from the times of unwritten laws which various tribes have followed, and the present constitution represents the most brilliant tradition of Greek democracy. Out of all the modern constitutions the new Greek Constitution is the best . . .’

As you can see, referring to this bloody, fascist, CIA-installed new government as democratic is just blatant and over-the-top CIA propaganda. He couldn’t have been more obvious.

Most critical authors when touching on the subject of Hubbard’s ships immediately gaining preferential treatment from the Harbor-master and such, take the decidedly narrow angle that it was only about money/schmoozing.

While I’m sure that money was involved, after all, when does British-American political intelligence not engage in some form of bribery or blackmail to get what they want, but I’d like to offer a more-rounded view for your consideration. Although, it must be noted, most authors, such as Russell Miller, had published their books about scientology prior to the breaking of the secret stay-at-home armies and the direct involvement of the CIA in the LOK coup.

The Harbour-master was approached, properly apprised, and then went out of his way for Hubbard and his crew, extending his ship special birthing and other amenities. Arrivals to the ship were smuggling in cash and lots of it, and spreading it around the community – the Greece of this time was a suppressed and poor society.

‘They gave me about £3000* in high-denomination notes to take out to the ship,’ said Mary Maren*. ‘I hid it in my boots.’

– Bare-Faced Messiah, Russell Miller, p. 289
*100 british pounds were worth about 250 dollars in 1969, so £3000 = $7,500
*Mary Maren is now Mary Freeman, married to Frankie Freeman. Mary is currently counseling others in “ethics” technology (scientology) in Coeur D’Alene Idaho.

About the money –

A rare video interview series with L. Ron Hubbard, done in August of 1968 on board the Royal Scotman, mentioned that Hubbard’s St. Hill organization was pulling down 30,000 pounds a week, which the ratio of conversion back in 1968 was 3 – 1. That means St. Hill was pulling down 90,000 dollars a WEEK.

That’s 360K a month, and 4.6 million dollars a year!

Now, in an London Daily Mail article of 3 August 1968, it published details of Hubbard’s private bank accounts in Switzerland, including account numbers, and it said Hubbard had $7 million. Some reporters tracked him down in Bizerte, Tunisia, (Daily Mail, 6 August 1968) and Hubbard acted nonchalant about the whole thing and “showed them his sixteen war medals in a framed case behind his desk.”

However, Hubbard actually indirectly verified that this was correct information (swiss account, etc.) by complaining about it blowing an agent (a spy) there at St. Hill.

As in the case of the Swiss Account numbers the paper “exposed” they blew the cover of an agent. As it was you knew there was an agent near Treasury at SH.

– L. Ron Hubbard to: CSG and The Guardian WW 2 December 1969 Intelligence Actions Covert Intelligence  taken from the Guardian’s Office confidential intelligence course of 9 September 1974.
*note – Jane Kember had taken over as Guardian in January of 1969, when Mary Sue become “Controller” – CSG and went off with Hubbard on his ships.

Note: Hubbard had also spent eight million dollars just two years earlier, in some kind of intelligence operation in Rhodesia, a fantastic sum all by itself in those days.

And yet, even more fantastic, this rate of cash flow is still continuing in 1968!

So, now here’s Hubbard moving in and out a least 4 million a year back in 1968, and there were only maybe 3,000 clears at this time, even if each of them did the new OT levels…that is still way too much money to account for it actually being just for services.

That’s is our first clue that something is very wrong with the sheer volume of money flowing through Hubbard’s church fronts and into Swiss bank accounts – let alone the other accounts he held in other parts of the world.

Another clue comes to us from the then Captain of the Apollo – Hana Eltringham.

Hana had been invited to join Hubbard’s Sea Project in August of 1967, she had then traveled to Las Palmas where the Avon River is being renovated under Ron Hubbard’s supervision.

There was lots of money aboard. We had to courier 7 or 8 million dollars in cash to Switzerland. And on a later trip much more than that was couriered. It was couriered from the Dutch Antilles island of Curacao, near Venezuela. LRH was really like a squirrel with nuts, stashing it. He stashed gold bullion too.

Messiah or Madman by Bent Corydon and L. Ron Hubbard Jr., 1987, interview with Hana Eltringham, p. 43,44.

Larry Reeves (who joined the ship some time after the “Mission Into Time” project) described a large crate full of gold coins and jewels of all kinds.

The crate was in the hull of the Apollo, during the time the ship was in Greece.

[…] I personally saw the treasure. It was in a huge wooden crate, built from two-by-sixes, the size of a small room. This carton was kept in the hull of the ship, near where I used to work. I’m a treasure buff, so when I opened up one of the boards and looked through, I knew what I was looking at! There were ancient gold coins, and jewels of all kinds. It was like looking at a huge pirates’ chest.

Note by Virginia: While the ships were in Greece, Hana describes special boats built to ferry heavy loads short distances.

LRH did have some special boats built in Valencia, Spain, after the “Mission Into Time” voyage.

Later on in 1968 they were brought onto the Apollo, while she was stationed in Greece.

They were Aom-bottomed great big sled-like craft, about 12 feet long by about 5 and a half to 6 feet wide, about 2 feet deep and sturdily built. Liz Gablehouse had to scout around and find some quiet motors to put on them.

Messiah or Madman by Bent Corydon and L. Ron Hubbard Jr., 1987, interview with Hana Eltringham, p. 43,44.

Here we have gold bullion, gold coins, jewels and piles of cash funneling on and off Hubbard’s ships while it was in Greece, plus boats being made that, to me, sound more suited for running loads of guns and heavy items like the gold bullion than for “treasure hunting”. Rather convenient accoutrements to be in possession, given the state of things politically there in Greece.

While there was certainly tons of dough available to spread around in Corfu, even money only goes so far.

In the end, it didn’t help Hubbard when he went too far in that press interview.

It didn’t help matters either, that one of Hubbard’s special Sea Org members, Cathy Cariatakis had established very warm and friendly relations with the head Colonel – Papandoupolos – busily ruling the country as a CIA puppet.

Those among the locals who knew what a bloodly regime it was (that Hubbard was ever-so-sweet on); the junta was not exactly popular, for obvious reasons, and Hubbard’s overblown CIA presence began to backfire, resulting in Hubbard’s flotilla leaving Corfu March 19th, 1969.

Despite all the reports flying around about Hubbard’s presence in Corfu, one thing, if true, could be extremely important in understanding the underlying story. That is, that apparently, a CIA memorandum from the time period, reported that there was no indication that the ship’s activities posed any intelligence or security risk. Playing Dirty, Omar Garrison,p. 75

What about Jerry?

What…pray tell, has our elusive Mr. Jerry McDonald doing for all this time?

One thing I do know, is that Jerry had left Corfu before this, by January 1969, he was in Los Angeles with his Blue Fin ship now donated to the Sea Org and named the Aries training Sea Org members – along with his Makaira boat.

From Scientolopedia –

The Aries was an ex air-sea rescue vessel. It was approximately 63 feet long and was gas powered. She was used to train Sea Org members and was based in the Pacific area in 1970.The Aries was originally named the Bluefin. The Bluefin was a 65 foot Air-Sea Rescue boat that was added to the Pacific Coast Sea Org fleet on January 12, 1969. It’s first captain was Warrant Officer Jerry McDonald.

If you recall, we started this saga with Jane Kember’s evaluation that somehow arrives at the conclusion that Jerry was a Customs agent.

And yet…in less than six months of his arrival in Los Angeles, Customs is investigating him for narcotics smuggling!

6 May 69 An LA IRS Intel report indicates the US Customs Office to be conducting an extensive investigation into the Blue Fin and its activities because of a previous report that the ship was involved in narcotic smuggling from Mexico.

– U.S. Customs “timetrack” done by Guardian’s Office intelligence personnel, Ref: Exhibit XII [12] – Clearwater Commission Hearings (main page here). p188

Jerry had been put in charge of the Sea Org ships in the “PAC” (pacific) area. For some reason, he felt the need to go back and forth between L.A. and Baja, California, supposedly doing drills, as one report has it (from Jane’s Exhibit 43)

The earliest data in Coast Guard files is a letter 7 July 1969 from Irwin C. Jones, Secretary of L.A. Yacht Club to Admiral Tighe, 11th Coast Guard District, which states that he saw 2 ships in Ensndada (Mexico) bearing Coast Guard insignia replicas and crew doing para military drills. States they are impersonating Coast Guard Ships and should be report it to the FBI.

Six months later, things were heating up – Jerry had his boat Makaira boarded by Customs.

boarded the Makaira 13 November 1969.

– Customs files noted in an evaluation (scientology tech for assessing a situation) by the Guardian Jane Kember, Guardian Order GO1344 of 10 October 1974, p. 3 – Exhibit 43 from FBI files, PDF.

In a bizarre twist, just two months later Jerry starts actively smuggling with Terry Milner, supposedly on a project with U.S. Customs.

January 15, 1970 – Jerry McDonald agrees to work with Terry Milner, then DGI US, on a drug smuggling project with US Customs.

– U.S. Customs “timetrack” done by Guardian’s Office intelligence personnel, Ref: Exhibit XII [12] – Clearwater Commission Hearings (main page here). p188

Which…is supposedly to remove EX scientologist drug runners from the Church.

But now, if they are EX scientologists, they aren’t with the Church anymore, so what’s the problem?

This just gets more and more strange, and obviously not quite the truth.

Feb-July 1970 – JM is reported as working with Customs and LAPD as an informant on the cycle set up by Milner to remove X-Scientologists drug runners off Scientology lines. […]

This is the Brotherhood of Eternal Love that this “project” is supposedly about.

A drug-smuggling group with heavy ties to the CIA through Timothy Leary, Billy Mellon/Hitchock, Richard Helms/Paul Helliwell and the Castle Bank.

I found that in the Kember Exhibit 43, page 3 of the PDF, where there are the following notes from the Coast Guard file.

Ah yes, the Brotherhood at Laguna and the Makaira.

Jerry and his passengers are arrested for running guns, stolen guns, but Jerry, in a closed door meeting with the Judge, walks off into the sunset – literally.

You don’t have that kind of get-out-of-jail free card without high, high connections, and “customs agent” or “justice department” agent ain’t high enough – but the CIA would have that kind of instant pull. And per Terry, apparently Jerry went on to do some more smuggling with the Brotherhood.

*See post about Terry Milner and documents found about him in the recently declassified FDA documents.

Just after the Makaira bust, is when Brotherhood of Eternal Love’s Eddie Padilla and a few other of the Brotherhood members (who had just relocated to Maui)  – needed a better boat situation. Eddie was working for the major Mexican Syndicate drug lord at the time – nicknamed “Papa” – Pedro Aviles Perez out of Sinaloa. So they bought a schooner out of St. Thomas, named the Aafje, and Eddie met up with it at Manzanillo, Mexico in early 1970 where he proceeded to have it loaded up with over 1500 kilograms of the finest “Papa” mexican weed.

And then there was this, on page 4 of Kember Exhibit 43 –

So now wait – if Jerry and Terry supposedly “broke up the Brotherhood” – then why is Jane Kember calling Jerry a bad guy “agent”, and Terry gets fired as DGI US?

And Terry’s plan, per Jane, back in the beginning, to handle the drug rumors (CIA ship) was to run drugs with the Brotherhood to bust them?

To me, it sounds like Jane doesn’t have a fricking clue what was really going on.

Especially considering the tight and long-existing ties to the CIA and British intelligence already there. I mean heck, there’s Puthoff and Swann with a dang CIA contract at about the same time here!

Why would the CIA want the Brotherhood – their little LSD distribution squad – “broken up”?

They wouldn’t. This sounds like clod-hopper FBI action to me, plus some IRS “we want out cut” thrown in for good measure.

If you look at those news articles, particularly the later-dated ones, you’ll see some names – those are Brotherhood members, and at least two of their names show up on Scientology completions lists – Kenneth Connell and Dave Mantell, with Dave doing services in the 90’s under Miscavige, apparently!

Dave was one of the main guys in the Brotherhood, and Terry Milner already had tight ties with the Brotherhood through his communicator Grace-Marie Haddy and her connections into the Grateful Dead.

When Jane Kember tried to do the ultimate justice action on Terry in 1974, the Committee of Evidence (Comm-Ev) Mike McClaughry (he was in the Guardian’s Office then) was told at the time that Ron Hubbard had stepped in and said: “No, he’s a friend.” and Terry just sort of disappeared from his previous visible position.

But Jerry gets declared SP – Suppressive Person! Jane had mentioned that her little evaluation, but the thing is? He’s not on any list of declared suppressive people at all, that I can find.

Interesting. So, she just wants people to think that was the case? Even more interesting.

Jane’s handling – so called – for this was…wait for it…to infiltrate the Coast Guard!

DGI US was Dick Weigand (who hated his job) and AGI DC was Meisner, I believe, but I could be wrong about that.

In a further strange twist, Jerry dies at only age 44, while involved in “non-hostile incident” in the Army now!

Jerald N Mcdonald was a staff sergeant for the United States Army. Jerald was born on October 31, 1939 and was from Tucson, Arizona. On August 03, 1983, he died in a non-hostile incident in United States at the age of 44.

I think I’ll just end this here.
