Morale Operations used “black” propaganda, in which the source of the information was disguised. Black propaganda could be either true or false. For morale operations purposes, the truth or falsity was irrelevant. It was the effect on the target’s mind that mattered.

Creswell to Bruce, CIA Declassified document.

1.      Intimidate the enemy…It was the effect on the target’s mind that mattered.

2.     Confuse the enemy…It was the effect on the target’s mind that mattered.

3.     Weaken the enemy’s will to resist…It was the effect on the target’s mind that mattered.

4.     Creating internal dissidence and disturbance by expertly setting against one another….It was the effect on the target’s mind that mattered.

5.      Alienate from the enemy the moral and sentimental support of public opinion wherever it may be favorable to him, and particularly among…the allies…whom he may happen to have…It was the effect on the target’s mind that mattered.

6.      Build up and maintain the morale and fighting spirit of our own population, and our allies and associates.

7.      Create favorable public opinion toward our efforts…

.

“…they embrace every known form of communication of information.”

Points 6 and 7 are the weakness.

6.      Build up and maintain the morale and fighting spirit of our own population, and our allies and associates.

7.      Create favorable public opinion toward our efforts…

Ask yourself, if your “enemy’s” morale is based on successfully bringing into being a stated effect on your mind (as the target of the Psychological Warfare) – then what would erode this morale?

Failure.

Repeated, prolonged and without exception failure would be downright de-moralizing.

Ask yourself, what if favorable opinion is not only not created, but the opposite keeps gaining ground – unfavorable view of your activities towards your “target’s mind”.

If the target does not respond as planned, ever, and turns every action on it’s ear? The Psychological Warfare practitioners would lose more and more ground every second they continue that campaign.

You can see what your role is. Don’t fall for it, either as a target or a “supporter” to be turned against the target.

And since their “mantra” for the purpose of war, is:

to bring about a more amenable frame of mind

– you can see what is counted as a loss in their idea of War.

Every time you don’t fall for it – you tear ground out from under the men and women that seek to win by lying.

It’s that easy.
